At King David, tikkun olam – making the world a better place – teaches our students their responsibility to others.
Our parents, students and staff collectively dedicate nearly 10,000 hours of volunteer work each year to Jewish and non-Jewish projects in and around the Vancouver area. Each week, a group of students, staff and parents volunteer at the Jewish Food Bank. Students also organize food and clothing drives, deliver sandwiches to the homeless, work with younger at–risk peers at a local elementary school, and respond to a variety of global issues identified throughout the year.
Each year, we have our Random Acts of Chesed (RAC) Week, inspired by our beloved Gabrielle Isserow z’l, where students and staff go out and volunteer in our community.
